  • Who Should Take This Course

    Anyone wanting to learn more about Shelter Dog Behavior. ESPECIALLY those involved in sheltering and rescue: volunteers, staff, veterinarians and vet techs, as well as anyone interested in a future career in animal welfare

  • What are the Topics Being Covered?

    Every two weeks we will have a zoom meeting covering a different module, with an emphasis on meeting the behavioral needs of the dogs in our care. After finishing the prerequisite course, covering the ASV Guidelines and the five domains, you can dig into the rest of the course. Topics covered are reading dogs, assessment, enrichment, defensive handling, placement, adoptions, and so much more!. This course is THE industry standard for learning about dog behavior in a shelter or rescue setting. Please see the curriculum outline in the section above for weekly topics!

  • Is this a Live Course?

    The answer is yes & no! You can work your way through the webinars and written material at your own speed. You have your choice of one of two meeting times twice a month via zoom If you can't make it live, you can watch the recording.

  • Are There CEUs Available for this Course?

    Yes! CEU's pending for IAABC and CCPDT

  • What if I Cannot Complete the Course in the 13 Weeks?

    No need to worry! You have up to a year to complete the course material, and you will have the option to renew month-by-month after that.
